Counselling enables a person to explore and examine their current difficulties and concerns in a confidential, compassionate and supportive environment.
"I will accompany you as you strive to gain insight into your feelings and behaviours, and remain attentive to you as you examine and explore your concerns. I will support you in developing and enhancing your coping skills, with the ultimate aim of enhancing your emotional well-being.
I provide a calm and confidential setting in which my clients can feel safe enough to begin to explore the presenting issues that are of concern to them.
My work is aimed at raising self-understanding and awareness so that, ultimately, life choices can be made from a position of increased personal insight. I believe the therapeutic relationship is integral to this process of change."
"My practice and interest as an Integrative therapist is to work in a way that suits the client’s needs by moving between a number of different theories such as: Attachment, Person-Centred, Existential, Psychodynamic or Sensorimotor approaches.
Utilising Psychodynamics, I can help clients explore the earliest childhood relationships and how these impact upon their present difficulties. Alongside looking at the past we also look at present, repeated patterns of thinking and belief that may cause the client to be unable to move forward.
Humanistic/Person Centred means I hold in mind that everyone can develop their own potential and move towards a life of greater understanding and fulfillment. I believe in building a strong relationship with the client, providing an open and confidential environment and finding the most appropriate way of working with each individual and their own pace."
